Mission, Vision and Values

Our vision is of a thriving, resilient, and inclusive community where all residents have opportunities to connect, learn, and prosper — regardless of age, background, or circumstances.

Our mission is to work collaboratively with our communities to make High Green and the surrounding neighbourhoods of Chapeltown, Burncross, Grenoside, and Ecclesfield a great place to live, learn, work and play."

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

  1. THE PEOPLE OBJECTIVE

 

To improve the health and economic wellbeing of individuals and families in our area by:

 

  • Supporting people to improve their health & wellbeing (through one-to-one and group work)

  • Supporting people to improve their economic & social wellbeing (through one-to-one work)

  • Running a high-quality volunteering programme (from low-level group support to work placements)

  • Working with the partners across North Sheffield to develop unique opportunities for local people

2. THE COMMUNITY OBJECTIVE.

To work with local people and organisations to improve the sense of belonging and togetherness by:

  • Connecting to and harnessing the energies of the community

  • Talking and listening to the community, thereby ensuring their needs are met

  • Improving the connectedness between the communities we serve

  • Involving the community in our decision making

 

3. THE SITE & BUILDING OBJECTIVE

 To prioritise our tenants based around their impact on learning, skills, care and community benefit by: 

  • Keeping us green – prioritising and focussing on lowering and minimising our environmental impact.

  • Having indoor and outdoor facilities which meet both statutory requirements and appropriate standards in order to serve the actual and potential needs of the community. 

  • Acting as a focal point for the community, a safe space for them to gather and interact which is welcoming, inviting and interesting place to be.

  • Championing links with organisations that share our environmental goals

 

4. ORGANISATION OBJECTIVE

To be a highly regarded, sustainable, innovative organisation, committed to developing employees & client centred services, and acting as an advocate for our communities by:

 

  • Developing and nurturing HGDT staff and volunteers.

  • Developing relationships with influencers whilst sustaining and developing new partnerships.

  • Having a sustainable governance structure which supports and is aligned to our mission and vision. 

  • Having a financially stable and ‘funding ready’ charity with excellent policies, procedures and systems.
