Sheffield Renewables Ltd is a well-established community energy group structured as a Community Benefit Society (reg.no. 30736R). They channel investments from the community into funding and operating local renewable energy schemes (mostly solar PV) for organisations and businesses that can benefit financially from the green electricity we generate. This way, they help their partners make financial savings while also supporting their decarbonisation and energy resilience. Revenues from electricity sales are reinvested into new schemes for local communities and organisations within Sheffield and its region. Their action also extends to energy efficiency consultancy, sustainability advocacy and financial support for local and international initiatives aligned to our environmental and social values.

Sheffield Renewables Ltd has been in operation for over 10 years and during this period, they have channelled community investment from two successful share offers into funding and operating 5 solar photovoltaïc (solar PV) schemes for a school, a community centre, a police station, a wholesale food co-operative and a co-housing project.
