Chapelgreen Heritage Films

In 2022 High Green Development commissioned local historian and film maker Joshua Daniels to make a series of local heritage films capturing the histories of High Green, Chapeltown, Burncross, Grenoside and Ecclesfield as well as the stories of some of the remarkable women who live there.

 

Our aim was to document this history before it is too late, we hope you enjoy these 4 episodes.

Episode 1 : Chapeltown and Burncross

The first episode of a series of documentaries about the history of the places in the Chapel-Green area (history of Ecclesfield Parish), Sheffield, and the women that make up the community. This episode focuses on the history of Chapeltown and Burncross, as well as the history of places like Barnes Hall, Wagon & Horses Pub, and Thorncliffe Ironworks (Newton Chambers)/Thorncliffe Business Park, as well as the wonderful women of these places too. Made for the Campus in High Green. Produced by Joshua Daniels and Matthew Bowns, two professional filmmakers.

Episode 2: Grenoside

A history of Grenoside in Sheffield (Ecclesfield Parish), as well as places such as Lump Lane, Greno Woods, and Grenoside War Memorial, as well as the wonderful women that make up the community.

Episode 3: Ecclesfield

A history of Ecclesfield in Sheffield, as well as a history of places within it, such as St. Mary's Church, the priory, and Ecclesfield Park, as well as some of the wonderful women that make up the community.

Episode 4: High Green

A history of High Green in Sheffield, with places such as Mortomley Park & Hall, the Campus, and Packhorse Lane, as well as interviews with the wonderful women who make up the community.
