The Campus has proudly utilized green electricity since 2014, thanks to our partnership with Sheffield Renewables.

 

This esteemed community energy group, structured as a Community Benefit Society, invests in local renewable energy initiatives, primarily solar PV, benefiting both organizations and businesses. generating green electricity, we not only help our partners achieve significant cost savings but also contribute to their decarbonization and energy resilience efforts.

 

Revenues from electricity sales are reinvested into new local community projects, alongside providing energy efficiency consultancy and advocacy to further support our environmental and social values and during this time, Sheffield Renewables has successfully channelled investments from two share offers to fund and operate five solar photovoltaic (solar PV) schemes. These initiatives support diverse range of facilities, including a school, a community center, a police station, a wholesale food co-operative, and a co-housing project.
