Cafe provision at HGDT - Temporary Closure , Message from Chris Hallam, CEO

As from the 15th of January, HGDT will no longer be operating the Cafe on site. The facility will be closed for a period from then until new owners can be found.

We have for a number of years operated the Cafe at significant cost to the charity. The reality of the current financial climate has meant that continuing to this is just not a good use of the charity’s monies.

On the positive side we now have an opportunity for a new business, charity or social to step in and take over. We are in active discussions with a number of organisations and are working to understand how they would run things. We hope to have the plan fully in place by the end of the month and to be able to support the new team as they re-open the Cafe.

The staff have been redeployed within our trust and will be instrumental in us getting the new Community Corner up and running and improving the overall running of the building. I am delighted that we have been able to retain the team.
