We are delighted to say Cafe Hug is NOW OPEN.
Serving hot drinks (barista coffee!!), hot food, sandwiches and homemade cakes and bakes Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm and Saturdays 9am - 2pm.
Here's some words from the new owner Ray (you might know her from Brown Bag Bakery!)
" Hi guys, I have some BIG news that I am so proud and excited to share with you all. A couple of weeks ago we picked up the keys to our new business venture.
We are so happy to announce that we are opening a new community cafe at the The Campus, High Green Development Trust in high green called Cafe Hug.
We have been working like busy little bees and some of you who visit The Campus might have already seen the changes we have been making around the place. We can't wait to show you all what we have done.
The business model of our cafe will be to support individuals with special needs and those in the local area who need support the most to gain experience within the hospitality industry within a busy Cafe environment, with the aim of them developing the skills, knowledge and confidence to help them in or back into main stream employment.
We are going be working closely with the High Green Development Trust with more projects to help the community and create an amazing place for all people within the local area to come and enjoy coffee, cake or nice hot meal in a friendly comfortable space.
Myself and my very talented friend Simon will be on this journey together, Simon is a chef and trainer with over 20 years of experience in the industry, he will be whipping up lots of tasty food for you all to try, I am over the moon he is to be part of this journey with me as his knowledge and enthusiasm is amazing.
